I've been thinking about how to explain the theme of this new blog section, but luckily I found a magazine article that is worth at least a thousand words.
This lady was chosen for a fashion make-over by this talented fuschia-haired stylist. |
Without dieting or going to a gym, see how much better she looks! |
Even her jacket got a make-over. |
This is the idea behind "The Well Dressed Woman". There is a tiny minority of people who look good in everything they try on, and even they may find this to be a temporary blessing. The vast majority of us, regardless of height, weight, or age, need to be selective about our clothing in order to accentuate the positive. Most of us can't hire a stylist, or spend enough money to get that gorgeous "After" outfit. But maybe if we put our non-pink heads together, we can do just as well within our budgets. It's just a matter of investing some thought into our clothing and accessories. And being well-dressed is a serious matter. If you're reading this blog, you're already committed to the idea of dressing modestly. Now, you need to be a role model to convince others to do the same. We all need to dress beautifully in order to dispel the myth that modest = frumpy:
If we are successful, maybe the modest shopper will become a significant factor in the fashion industry. Maybe fashion designers will get the message that women want to be clothed, not exposed. That's my Modest Proposal.
In the future, we'll be publishing posts about choosing clothes wisely according to body type, organizing your wardrobe, sales, online specials, and Personal Shopper. You won't want to miss anything, so please
